6 Mounds candy bars cut into small chunks; 1 1/2 c. Flour; 1/8 tsp. Salt; 1 stick Butter, softened; 3 tbsp. Shortening; 1/2 c. Sugar; 1/2 c. light Brown Sugar, firmly packed; 1 Egg; 1tbsp. Vanilla; 2/3 c. shredded Coconut; 1/2 c. semisweet Chocolate Chips.

Chill the cut up candy for 30 minutes.
Wisk flour & salt into small bowl.
Cream butter & shortening well. Add sugars and beat for 1 minute. Beat in the egg. Blend in the vanilla, scraping down the sides of bowl. On low, add in the sifted flour in 2 additions, until well blended. Mix in the candy chunks, coconut, and chocolate chips. Cover dough and chill for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 325º. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place heaping 2 tbsp.-sized ball of dough 3" apart on the sheet. Bake for 16-17 minutes, or until set, with pale golden edges. (The tops should NOT look like glistening unbaked cookie dough.) Let cookies cool for 1 minute then remove them to cooling rack.
