Personal Notes:
For years the Gevelinger family enjoyed the dip at "The Club" and this recipe is a close reproduction. Eleanor Gevelinger often would prepare this dip when her children entertained. At one party, Eleanor's daughter, Cindy, told one of her guests (who was complimenting the dip) the dip was "Eleanor's Dip". By the end of the night Cindy overheard someone referring to the dip as "Elmer's Dip" and the name stuck.
