4 cups flour
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 cups shortening (like Crisco)
1 egg
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1/2 cup cold water

Directions:
Directions:
1-Sift flour, salt and baking powder together
2-Cut shortening into dry ingredients
3-Beat eggs, add vinegar and water
4-Gradually add liquids to flour mixture

For a one crust pie: Prick the crust after it is in the pan and bake for 10-12 minutes or at 450º.

Grandma Scherbarth was afraid she might loose this recipe and it was found in numerous other places beside her recipe box. One of the places was with her crocheting.
